WILLIAM (BILL) WILSON
William
“Bill” Wilson of Albers, Illinois is the chairman of the Illinois War
of 1812 Bicentennial Commission and president of Hill's Fort Society. He is sixty-six years of age
and
actively participates in many historical events within
Illinois.
Bill is a retired educator, author of four Illinois History books, and
currently aids in the rebuilding of Hill’s Fort. He has been
a
member of the 17th Illinois Territorial Rangers Company “B” for three
years. Bill believes that it is important to study the War of
1812
because Illinois’ history from early territorial days to statehood
development was centered around this war.
